Platform disclaimer (Oath)

GiftBlood is a community coordination platform only. We help connect voluntary blood donors with people who post urgent needs — we are not a hospital, blood bank, ambulance service, or medical provider.

We do not collect, store, or supply blood, and we do not perform medical screening or transfusion.
We do not guarantee that a donor will be available, respond in time, or that a donation or transfusion will take place.
Users are responsible for verifying information, following hospital and blood-bank procedures, and contacting qualified healthcare professionals and emergency services when needed.
Any coordination through GiftBlood is between users; medical suitability and safety must always be confirmed by licensed hospital staff.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email, phone number, city, blood group, age, gender, and role (donor or requester).

We store messages sent through GiftBlood chat, blood requests you post, donation pairing records, notifications, and profile settings including availability and avatar photos.

We may collect technical data such as device type, browser, and approximate usage patterns to keep the platform secure and reliable.

How we use your information

To match donors with urgent blood needs in relevant cities and blood groups.
To enable secure in-app messaging between donors and requesters.
To verify donation completion, trust scores, leaderboards, and gamification features.
To send notifications about messages, matches, and account activity.
To prevent abuse, enforce our terms, and respond to support requests.
To improve GiftBlood features and reliability.

Health-related data

Blood group and donation-related information is sensitive. We ask for your explicit consent during registration before storing this data.

We do not sell health-related data. Access is limited by role-based permissions and database security policies.

Sharing & disclosure

Your public donor profile shows limited information (such as name, city, blood group, and badges) — not your phone or email.
Requesters and donors see each other in chat only after initiating contact through a blood request.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users and the public.
We use infrastructure providers (such as hosting and database services) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.

Your choices & rights

Update your profile and availability at any time from account settings.
Control notification sounds and read status within the app.
Request account deletion or data correction by contacting support@giftblood.com.
You may stop using GiftBlood at any time; some records may be retained where required for fraud prevention or legal compliance.

Security & retention

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, access controls, and row-level security on user data.

No online service is completely secure; please use a strong password and report suspected unauthorized access immediately.
